Frequently Asked Questions

How old do you have to be to skydive?

16 years old is the minimum age to skydive in Australia. All minors require written permission by their parents or guardians to be able to skydive. There is no maximum age to skydive, but The Operator assess all customers based on age and general health condition.

115 kg is the maximum weight allowed to skydive in Australia. The Operator weighs each customer at check-in – over 95kg charges apply:

  • Over 95kg: +$25

  • Over 100kg: +$50

  • 110kg: +$100

  • The best option is comfortable casual clothes.

  • Dress for the weather on the day, but take into account that it will be a bit cooler at 14,000 feet.

  • Secure footwear is compulsory. Enclosed shoes such as runners are the best option.

It usually takes around 15 or 20 minutes to fly to altitude with the plane. Then it's onto the best part – an exhilarating freefall for about 60 seconds, followed by a parachute ride that normally takes around 5 to 7 minutes. However, for the entire experience, including check-in, administration, gearing up etc. you should allow at least half a day.

Under the Australian Parachute Federation regulation, only licensed skydivers with more than 100 jumps are allowed to use a camera. This is for safety reasons, as there are risks involved in manipulating extra gear while skydiving with the appropriate training. The Operator has photos and video extras that you can add to your skydive when you book online or on the day of your jump.
