Visitors to the Northern Territory (NT) need a park pass to visit most national parks and reserves. From 1st November 2023 all guests will be required to have a valid park pass&nbsp;<a href="https://nt.gov.au/parks/park-pass">Northern Territory Park Pass</a>.&nbsp; &nbsp;

Established in 1986, Litchfield National Park is a stunning location where you can take in the splendour of thundering waterfalls, rainforest pockets and historic sacred sites. It is a haven for hundreds of native bird species, and the plateau supports a rich range of woodland flora. The traditional custodians of the Park are the Wagait people, many of whom still call the area home.

&nbsp;

Your full-day tour to this incredible national park starts with pick-ups from selected Darwin hotels before the journey south. The first stop for the day is Florence&nbsp;Falls, where you can view the double falls from a high vantage point before making your way down to take a swim in the plunge pool. There&#39;s a 160 step staircase down to the swimming area or a viewing platform at top of the falls if you do not wish to swim.

Next, take an interpretative guided&nbsp;walk through the scenic bush and monsoon vine forest. It&#39;s the perfect chance to learn more about this incredible environment. This is followed by a spectacular photo opportunity at Tolmer Falls, as&nbsp;it&#39;s home to colonies of rare ghost and orange horseshoe bats. The lookout&nbsp;is an easy flat walk of 15 min&nbsp;each way from the parking area.&nbsp;

Having worked up an appetite, enjoy a delicious lunch in the park. Then, take another refreshing dip in the cool waters of Wangi Falls. It&#39;s got a&nbsp;&nbsp;large plunge pool and is&nbsp;the most accessible in the region, with an easy 5 min&nbsp;walk through the rainforest.&nbsp;

On the way back to Darwin, stop to see the Strauss Airstrip where you&#39;ll learn about the history of this historic site, then stop to see the unique&nbsp;Magnetic Termite Mounds, which are the work of local termites. Standing upright like magnetic compasses, they make for a fun photo.
