Frequently Asked Questions

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive twenty minutes before the tour departs so that the crew can check you in and board on time.

Please bring your booking confirmation with you to check in so the crew can locate your booking.

Walk on down from Surfers Paradise. Make your way to the Hopo Gold Coast Ferry Information Kiosk located in Appel Park, 10 Ferny Avenue, Surfers Paradise. The friendly staff there will direct you to your vessel.

Whale watching is an open ocean activity, and if you are susceptible to seasickness, The Operator strongly advises that you take seasickness medication. The operator holds a pharmacological license for seasickness tablets, and their preferred remedy, Travacalm H.O., is available to purchase onboard the vessels. However, they do recommend that you visit a pharmacist and take the pills 30 minutes prior to your scheduled departure.

The vessel is a large stable catamaran with a lower centre of gravity than all of the other Whale Watching vessels. This reduces the pendulum effect (the swinging and swaying from side to side), ensuring a smooth, comfortable ride for even those with the wobbliest of sea legs.

The best parking for standard vehicles (less than 2.08m) is the Bruce Bishop Car Park; for taller vehicles, it's the Cypress Avenue Car Park.

Alternatively, you can also catch the bus to the Surfers Paradise stop or take the G:link to Surfers Paradise Station. It's a short walk from both to the departure location.
