Your guide will be English speaking. We typically have a number of nationalities on our tours so your guides are used to tour members not being 100% fluent in English. Some basic English helps you to understand the guide&rsquo;s commentary and instructions.

We strongly recommend taking out travel insurance once you have booked your tour.

Departing from Nipaluna/Hobart, this day adventure takes you deep into the south of Lutruwita/Tasmania along the southernmost road in Australia so you can explore the highlights of this stunning region.

Discover why our island was once referred to as the Apple Isle as you sip on a tasting paddle. We drive through the historic riverside village of Franklin which still honours the traditional craft of building wooden boats.

&nbsp;

Soak in the views as we go further south. Paddle through the stunning Port Esperance Bay learning about its amazing history from a knowledgeable, local guide along the way. This 2 1/2-hour kayak will leave you feeling relaxed and appreciative of the beautiful coastline Tasmania has to offer.

Between October and April, we stop at the historic Kermandie Hotel. Built-in 1932, the charming Kermandie remains the heart of Port Huon. Here you can enjoy a delicious lunch with spectacular views over its private marina on the Huon River. In the colder months, you can enjoy lunch at the Tahune Adventures caf&eacute;.

After lunch, we venture into the forest at Tahune Airwalk, where we will spend two hours exploring the forest. Walk among the treetops on the Tahune airwalk &ndash; a steel canopy that overlooks the forest floor 30 metres below. Breathe deep as you do a forest walk and be brave as you cross the river on a swinging bridge.

Follow the Huon Pine Trail to see and smell one of Australia&rsquo;s oldest living trees. Find out how fire has affected the forest and see first-hand the natural regeneration that occurs in a forest environment.

&nbsp;

Finally, you can sit back and relax as we make our way back to Hobart after a fun day out amongst the natural surrounds of Southern Tasmania. We aim to get you back to Hobart by about 5:30 pm ready for you to rest at your hotel or enjoy a range of cuisines at one of Hobart&#39;s many fine restaurants.
