How long does it take?
The tour takes approximately two and a half hours; the first hour is spent travelling to the summit and some time enjoying the view then being fitted for a bike and safety gear. The following one and a half hours include the guided cycle descent with several stops for photo opportunities and regrouping before finally arriving at the Hobart waterfront to finish the tour.

All personal effects such as bags, handbags, cameras etc can be left in the support vehicle that follows the group whilst cycling.

Enclosed footwear must be worn. Warm, suitable clothing is recommended as mountain temperatures can be very cold at times. Cycling participants must be able to operate a bicycle safely and have a min height of 140cm and be at least 8 years of age. As most of the 21km cycle is downhill, only average fitness level is required. Child rate available 8 to 15 years of age. Activity indemnity waiver form must be completed prior to participation. Children under 18 must have form signed by parent/guardian.
*Mt Wellington Summit can be affected at times by adverse weather conditions. In these conditions we cannot always guarantee views due to poor visibility and also may choose to commence cycle descent from a lower height to avoid strong winds.

Due to the diverse mix of our guests we believe they prefer to do their own thing for most meals, this means you to try out Tasmania great food and drinks that are suited your taste and budget. Our tours normally include breakfast and some include meals that showcase Tasmanian produce or provide a great way to get to know your fellow travellers.
For the meals not included you will have the chance to dine out and enjoy the local foods and produce with recommendations from the guide, or visit the local supermarket to purchase items that can be prepared in the kitchen at each hostel, either individually or as a group.

For breakfast we supply cereals, toast, juice, tea & coffee. If there’s something you can’t do without, just bring it with you! Please advise your dietary requirements at the time of booking.
Some of our tours will include opportunities to taste and sample local produce; check the individual tour information for these details.
We do not supply lunches or dinners on any of our trips however our guides will recommend great places to eat along the way and stop at supermarkets to stock up on any supplies needed if you prefer to cook yourself.

We visit some incredible places throughout Tasmania, and wherever possible get out of the bus to explore. While most of our trips are active in nature our guides aim to offer walks that cater for all types of fitness with easy, medium and hard walking options.
What to bring?

Bring clothing that suits the season, while including warm clothes (it can get cold in the mountains), comfortable walking shoes, toiletries, a towel, hat, sunscreen, waterproof jacket, swimsuit, water bottle and camera. Luggage is restricted to one normal pack, bag or case (20kg) plus a small day pack.

The tours that we offer are designed to help you see as much of Tasmania as possible with like minded travelers. There is no maximum age provided you have a good sense of adventure and a reasonable level of fitness, however we do have a minimum age of 8 years old to ensure all passengers get the most from the tour!

Our maximum group size if 24 passengers plus the tour guide. These small group sizes allow you plenty of time to get to know your fellow passengers and guide.
Our tours are conducted in modern, comfortable air-conditioned buses. By having small groups it means we can spend as much time as possible outside the bus exploring the wonderful sights of Tasmania.

We included everything we believe is needed to have a great time in Tasmania while keeping our prices as low as possible. There are no extra charges or fees on any of our tours so the only expenses you’ll have throughout the tour will be extra meals not included, optional extras or souvenirs from the great places you’ll visit. Each individual tour will have different inclusions and to check see these just review our Tours to find out a bit more about them. To give you a general idea our tours will always include:
