This tour includes approximately 12km of walking, taking around 3-4 hours, so a moderate fitness level is recommended.&nbsp;

Come and join your Outback guide on a trek around the full base of Uluru&nbsp;and explore the most profound and culturally significant monolith in Australia.

Your guide will meet you approximately one hour before sunrise at the entrance to your accommodation at Ayers Rock Resort to begin your journey into Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.

&nbsp;

Then after arriving at the base of Uluru, you will begin your sunrise trek around the 12-kilometre&nbsp;base trail and embrace the culture, geology and environment that is the essence of this impressive monolith.

&nbsp;

Along the trail, you will witness the sunrise, visit waterholes and the rock art sites of the ancients, and learn of Uluru&rsquo;s cultural significance to the Anangu (local Aboriginal) people. Take time to enjoy your picnic outback breakfast as you listen to the variety of desert noises from the surrounding environment.

&nbsp;

As you make your way around the base, your guide will tell you several stories associated with prominent Tjukurpa (Creation stories). Hear about the&nbsp;Tjukurpa of Liru (poisonous snake) and Kuniya (woma python) learnt along the Kuniya Walk to Mutitjulu Waterhole, as well as the story of the Mala people heard along the Mala Walk to Kantju Gorge. This full base walk allows you to truly immerse yourself in the beautiful culture and history of this amazing place.

After arriving back at the starting location, your guide will return you to your accommodation at Ayers Rock Resort.
