If you’re visiting Cairns in February, definitely pack your swimsuit because the region’s calm, turquoise waters are waiting to be explored! Not only is the water sublimely warm, but the wet season provides high water levels, creating thrilling and challenging rapids that are perfect for an adrenaline-pumping river rafting experience.

Cairns boasts some of the best river rafting spots in Australia, with the Tully and Barron Rivers offering a range of experiences from easygoing to extreme. Beyond the surf and reef, Feb weather is perfect for delving into the lush rainforests surrounding the city, or seeing the lush surrounds from a completely different view with local skydiving, bungee jumping or hot air ballooning available.
