As winter transitions into spring, you can expect delightful dry weather with low humidity and temperatures ranging from 19°c to 29°c – not too hot and not too cold.

The region's diverse habitats – including wetlands and rainforests – attract so many different bird species, which is an absolute paradise for bird enthusiasts.

The Cattana Wetlands are totally worth visiting, as is the Daintree Rainforest. In fact, you'll encounter colourful parrots, majestic birds of prey and unique endemic species in all forested areas. Cairns is famous amongst bird watchers for its avian diversity and even newbies will be amazed at the beauty of some of the local birds.
