What to expect from Christchurch in December

Christchurch in December is the perfect time and place for festive cheer and adventure, as the city is preparing for Christmas. The summer weather – with lovely temperatures ranging from 10.5°c to 21°c – as well as the many events going on, give you multiple opportunities for relaxation and celebration.

Luxurious Seasonal Indulgence

One of the best things about the festive season is that it gives you an excuse to relax and pamper yourself at the Opuke Thermal Pools and Spa. With stunning views of the Southern Alps, both the Discovery Pools and Tranquility Pools give you a truly calming experience of relaxation and rejuvenation.

The Discovery Pools are great for both single visitors as well as families, with multiple thermal pools where you can luxuriate in the warmth with gorgeous views of the surrounding city.

For a more soothing self-care experience, the Tranquility Pools are a peaceful escape with their calm waters and beautiful alpine vistas. They’re the perfect way to relax after a day of holiday shopping or exploring the city.

If you want to try another luxurious treat, check out the Canterbury Winery Lunch Heli Tour. It starts with an exciting helicopter flight with stunning views of the region.
