Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to bring a mask?

Yes, please! We are recommending that all travelers bring face masks and wear them whenever physical distancing of 6ft/2m is not possible, as well as on vehicles/vessels but it is not required unless locally mandated. However, there may be local guidelines that require the wearing of masks which the tour group will abide by wherever necessary. We’ll continue to monitor this requirement make changes to this policy as appropriate, and as local guidelines and country, rules evolve. In all cases, travelers must follow these guidelines and the instructions of their CEO regardless of whether other people around the group are wearing masks or not — this is a requirement for participating in the tour.

As this tour uses the Shinkansen bullet trains, there is a restriction on maximum luggage size. Your luggage must be less than 160cm in total. This is roughly the size that most airline companies consider as "carry-on baggage" and allow in overhead storage compartments. We strongly recommend bringing a day pack or backpack to use during the day, in addition to your carry-on sized luggage.
