<h4>Tū Te Rā&nbsp;- Summer Harvest Celebration</h4>

Tū Te Rā is a summer celebration&nbsp;when the sun expresses optimal energy, the days are longer, and light nourishes the natural world. It celebrates abundant harvest and explores concepts, rituals, and stories of ancient Māori warfare and peace.&nbsp;Forest canapes&nbsp;welcome guests with seasonal favourites that may include crispy pork and candied apple encased in kawakawa leaves, abalone, smoked fish and more. Within the forest-formed amphitheatre attention shifts to stories relayed through haka, song and drama, before torchlight guides guests&nbsp;to an al fresco dining space, or dining room when weather is inclement, and a&nbsp;three-course feast with a chef aperitif. The famous hāngī shares a table with Māori fusion dishes developed and curated by celebrated Māori chefs.

<h4>Tū Te Ihi - Winter Matariki Celebration</h4>

Tū Te Ihi&nbsp;is a winter celebration that extends across the cooler months when the Matariki cluster of stars sits high and bright in our winter skies.&nbsp;Te&nbsp;Ihi&nbsp;references the energy and passion stirred by the Matariki cluster and the promise they herald. We&nbsp;honour&nbsp;our ancestors in a heart-warming ceremony known as Te Ahi Taitai (fire ceremony), before welcoming guests&nbsp;into the Tawa&nbsp;forest canopy.&nbsp;Enjoy seasonal forest canapes which may include steaming pork and watercress broth, smoked snapper and potato&nbsp;croquettes, hearty mussel chowder, and hot kumara parcels.&nbsp;Matariki celebrations then move to the meeting house&nbsp;where song, haka, storytelling, and performance become central. A torchlit walk leads into a cosy dining room&nbsp;and a three-course sharing&nbsp;feast with chef aperitif.&nbsp;Our famous hāngī shares a table with Māori fusion dishes developed and curated by acclaimed Māori chefs.

Te Pa Tu certainly lived up to the reviews. It was the highlight of our short stay in Rotorua. Despite the weather gods not being in our favour, thanks to Cyclone Gabrielle. The entire evening went without a hitch, starting with a coach pick-up from town taking us to the Village. A ceremonial greeting awaited us along with traditional tea and canapes, a lovely start to a fabulous evening. The cultural show was exciting and educational. The dancing and singing thrilling. To cap off a wonderful evening of entertainment we were then given a feast fit for a King. I have lost count of the number of courses served, all I can say is they were all delicious.

Our tour guide was brilliant and amusing, and he did a great job of answering all of our inquiries. She is also quite knowledgeable. Good location to visit in order to learn about Maori culture
