Then it&#39;s time to relax! Indulge&nbsp;in a geothermal mud bath&nbsp;then enjoy a soak in the sulphur spas. To cool off, take a dip in the cold plunge pool, then relax even further with the geothermal walk! Bliss! 
 
You&#39;ll also get the chance to try your hand at Maori carving and learn more about the myths and legends of Rotorua.&nbsp;

Hells Gate Geothermal Reserve & Mud Spa

The site is relatively large and it’s interesting to walk around to see different formations of geothermal. It took us a little over an hour plus a pit stop at the carving workshop. The afternoon got quite hot in late December especially the site doesn’t have much shaded areas. The spa was relaxing, the downside is that it got crowded as it’s during the Christmas holiday period.

It was once in a lifetime experience you wont want to miss. We enjoyed everything especially the mud.
