Your journey begins as you touch down in Colombo on Day 1.
Day 12 marks a bittersweet goodbye as you conclude our remarkable adventure.
The beauty of this group style of travel is that it caters to travellers who are travelling solo and who want to meet and share experiences with like-minded people.
Rooming is organised on a twin-share basis. Solo travellers will be paired with another traveller of the same gender.
There is also an optional single supplement available on most trips for travellers who prefer to have their own room.
This is part of the one Life Adventures "Classic" Tours.
Designed for travellers who crave authentic adventures. Trusted by over 10,000 guests over the past eight years, these tours immerse you in the heart and soul of each destination.
Local Culture:
Our Classic Tours go beyond sightseeing. Dive into the local culture by engaging in authentic activities, connecting with the community, and savouring traditional cuisine. Fully experience each destination and create memories that last a lifetime.
Hand-picked accommodation:
Where you stay is just as important as where you go. Our accommodation is carefully chosen for their charm, comfort, and local flavour. From cosy boutique hotels or unique hostels to charming homestays and glamping spots, enjoy a restful retreat after each day’s adventures.
Mid-length itineraries
Our ‘Classic’ itineraries are mid-length, 10-15 days, offering the perfect balance of in-depth exploration and free time. Enjoy extensive cultural immersion and adventure without feeling rushed, making the most of each destination.
All countries require a valid passport (with a minimum 6 months validity).
Contact your local embassy or consulate for the most up-to-date visa requirements, or see your travel agent.
It is your own responsibility to have the correct travel documentation. Visa requirements for your trip will vary depending on where you are from and where you are going.
Yes, travel insurance is compulsory on this trip.
Every traveller is different and therefore spending money requirements will vary. Some travellers may drink more than others while other travellers like to purchase more souvenirs than most. Please consider your own spending habits when it comes to allowing for drinks, shopping and tipping. Please also remember the following specific recommendations when planning your trip.
You can have a plate of food for a street vendor for AU$3-$7, however there are always more expensive options. From a mid-range, sit-down restaurant, expect to pay AU$7-$20 - not including alcohol.
When visiting sites of religious significance, all travellers should wear clothing that covers their shoulders and knees. In some sites, thongs are not allowed. Please check with your leader or local guide.
When you pack your clothing, consider the climate at the time of year you are travelling and any specific requirements for your trip as at certain times of the year some of the items suggested in the list that follow may not be necessary.
Bear in mind that the weather will vary significantly from place to place.
If there are specific requirements for a trip they will be noted here, in the Essential Trip Information. Laundry facilities are available in most destinations.
Below is a list of equipment and documentation that we suggest you take with you. Please use this checklist as a guide when packing for your holiday.
- Travel documents: passport, visa (if required), travel insurance, flight tickets, Essential Trip Information
- Photocopy of the above documents
- Spare passport photos
- Money: cash, credit/debit cards
- Money belt

We always recommend travelling with a backpack and packing light! 15-20kgs of stuff should be plenty. Australia is a BIG country so dragging around a huge bag is not fun.
Enjoy 11 nights of accommodation in modern hotels, resorts, and glamping sites, with all in-country transport provided, including coaches, trains, tuk-tuks, and more. The package also includes an array of delicious meals: 11 breakfasts, 2 lunches, and 2 dinners.
If you have an existing medical condition or disability that may affect your trip or how the Operator delivers your experience, they ask that you inform them in writing at the time of your booking. You may be asked to obtain a medical certificate, and if they reasonably feel they are unable to accommodate your particular needs, they reserve the right to decline your booking.
While travelling on this tour, you'll experience a vast array of wonderful food. Your group leader will be able to suggest restaurants to try during your trip. To give you maximum flexibility in deciding where, what and with whom to eat, only some meals are included in this tour price.
This also gives you more budgeting flexibility. As a rule, groups tend to eat together to enable you to taste a larger variety of dishes and enjoy each other's company. If you have dietary requirements and/or food allergies, please let The Operator know at the time of booking or prior to departure.
