Safety
Working with the National Parks and Wildlife Services, we set the standards high by providing a fun but also safe tour to the Figure 8 Pools for travellers and visitors. This is backed by our knowledge and experience in remote wilderness safety, adventure guiding and ocean and beach safety. All tours include an ocean and beach safety chat and guides closely monitor wave conditions when at the pools. As an extra safe measure, our guides also carry a wilderness first aid pack with all the important first aid items plus other safety equipment as one can never be too prepared!
The Figure 8 Pools can be a dangerous place to visit during high tide and big swell conditions as they are located on the rock ledge of the ocean, therefore we take all necessary steps to ensure guests safety and tours only operate during low tide, low swell and safe weather conditions. We actively and closely monitor ocean conditions on a daily basis and if conditions are not predicted safe then a longer hike or alternative activity will be offered on the day, sometimes we may reschedule or cancel the tour. All bookings need to be re-confirmed 24 hours prior to tour.
