Brisbane and Gold Coast Itinerary: Accessible Travel
We suggest starting in Brisbane on Day 1. We would recommend securing accommodation which is central to the city. Then once you arrive and settle in, it's time to treat your taste buds.
Our first stop? City Winery, a place that's not only welcoming but also happens to serve the City Winery Dry-Aged Beef Experience. Picture this: you're seated in a cosy spot, savouring mouth watering dry-aged beef that practically melts in your mouth. And the wines? They're like a symphony of flavours dancing on your palate. It's the perfect warm-up act for the culinary scene in Brisbane, and trust me, you'll enjoy every bite.
Then, head back to your accommodation for the night fully satisfied, getting ready for the next big day of adventure!
On Day 2, it’s time to blend some nature and relaxation into your adventure. In the morning, make your way to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. We recommend booking the half day cruise and entry package option. It’s just the best way to see Brisbane and soak up the morning sun. The guide on the boat also shares the history of Brisbane as you cruise down the river. It was such a lovely relaxing morning and definitely the easiest way to get to Lone Pine from the City.
Arriving at the koala sanctuary, you’ll realise that this place is like a haven for animal lovers, and it's all about getting up close and personal with Australia's iconic wildlife. The highlight? Holding a cuddly koala, of course! Their fluffy fur and laid-back vibe make for an unforgettable experience. There are also kangaroos, crocodiles and Tasmanian Devils! As the sun sets on Brisbane, turn your attention to the city's rich history and hidden gems.
Next on the agenda is the Dark Stories Crime Tour of Brisbane. You'll discover the city's historic streets, where tales of crime, mystery, and intrigue come to life. Be prepared to hear about the audacious criminals and unsolved mysteries that once had this city abuzz. It's like stepping back in time, and you can't help but get wrapped up in the stories.
That’s a wrap for Brisbane on Day 2! Now it's time to head south and journey to the Gold Coast for Day 3!
The Gold Coast is famous for its heart-pounding adventures, and today's all about living life to the fullest. First up, Gold Coast Parasailing – an adrenaline-pumping experience that offers options for everyone. You can go with one or two of your travel companions. You’ve got to experience soaring above the sparkling waters, feeling the wind in your hair. You’ll be gliding above some of the most pristine blue waters, looking below at the surfers and maybe if you’re lucky see some whales! It's a moment of pure exhilaration.
Then get ready for the Broadwater Adventure Jet Boat Ride. Feel the wind in your hair and the excitement in your heart – no worries, there's accessible seating to ensure everyone's in on the action. The heart-thumping turns and spins will make you feel like you're in a high-speed action movie. It's an absolute thrill. Being one of the longest jet boat rides offered on the Gold Coast, you’ll be visiting Broadwater, Moreton Bay Marine Park, Sovereign Island. So you really get to see everything the Gold Coast has to offer on the water. This adventure is also easy to get to, offering free transfers from Surfers Paradise.
Tuning it down slightly to end the day jump on the Aquaduck Safari. This unique land-and-water adventure guarantees a good time for all. You’ll cruise through the city streets learning about the city from a friendly guide. Then, the Aquaduck will transition from land to water, and effortlessly glide into the river. It's like being on two adventures in one – a safari and a cruise – and it's unlike anything else.
As for the accessibility part, it turns out that Brisbane and the Gold Coast have got it sorted without making a fuss. So, whether you're digging into gourmet grub, discovering cool stories, or chasing adventure, these cities have your back.
It's time to embark on an accessible journey that'll leave you with memories for a lifetime.
